What is 1:1 Concerts and how I think digitally could improve their user experience?

1:1 Concerts is an emotional experience that locates you in a personal meeting with a musician. Without sharing a word the eyes become the communicators in this analog exchange.

The challenge?  with 1:1 concerts as a client. How would you apply digitally to improve the user journey of this sublime encounter? During my MA Digital Narratives, I worked on some prototypes for them.

Well, First I work in a 360 video experience to locate the user on possible scenarios before the booking for a concert.

Second, I collaborate with my colleagues Eliane Eid and Rianne Cox on the prototype of an App to facilitate the locations, reservations, and timeframes as a user (participants) and as a service provider (musician).

360 Experience

Why 360? One of the core pillars of 1:1 Conserts is the space, where the musical encounter would take place. How the architecture makes you feel?

During my conversation with the 1:1 Concerts founders, it was highlighted that these concerts are taking place in meaningful places:

  • First, in music halls and concert rooms that feels different when the participant is along with the artist surrendered by empty seats. “It becomes an intimate experience,” said Christian Siegmund (Co Funder / 1:1 Concerts)
  • Second, this initiative started during the Covid lockdown period, so they intentionally empower empty places with music. Therefore airports, school halls, museums, and theatres were the stages for the pioneers’ meetups of this project.
  • Third, the small format of the concerts facilitates other uncommon locations for presentations. Rooftops, gardens, public squares, and lakes were the new stages for performers willing to share their music and listeners ready for the adventure.

So,I decided to strength the idea of the power of spaces …

Based on the vision of the importance of space that the 1:1 Concerts team shared, I create three videos to be shared as part of the social media campaign.

The main objective is to inspire the user to book these concerts motivated by the locations and how the spaces can make you feel. The contrast being always lockdown in a room and going to an open space to listen to a personal concert by a professional musician.

During the short 360 stories, the contrast between small places and wider experiences appeals to the feeling of freedom that 1:1 wanted to have as part of the media strategy.

(It is better to enjoy on VR goggles but this content is widely shared on social media that allows 360 formats for mobiles such as #Facebook and #YouTube)

The 1:1 Concerts App Prototype

In collaboration with my colleagues Eliane Eid and Rianne Cox, we prototype a potential interface for a 1:1 Concerts mobile App using Figma.

The main goal of the App is to improve the process of booking, financing, and managing the concerts. We develop two UX (user experience) designs.

  • One for the participant or listener, where they have the opportunity to have an account, book a concert, edit their payment options, leave comments, and read the newsletter/ special events/social media content.
  • Another is for the service provider, the musician, or the 1:1 Concert’s staff member, who can schedule timeframes for their performance, set up locations and manage the financing part of the exchange.

Enjoy
